When can I expect my pictures?
I know how difficult it is waiting in anticipation to see your final images! I always send a few sneak-peeks of sessions and events right away, but the editing stage can be a very time-consuming process. On average, all portrait and engagement sessions can expect a 3-4 week timeframe for a full turnaround (30-40 retouched images). Weddings require a lot more editing time so you can expect around 8 weeks (depending on the season and how many weddings are currently being processed). What happens with my photos after an event or session? How do you make sure my precious images are safe?
Losing photos from a once-in-a-lifetime event are what Photographer nightmares are made of. We've all heard about the horror stories online–"My Photographer lost my wedding pictures and now I have nothing!". Just the thought of this happening makes me anxious! For this reason, I go above and beyond to ensure that my photography of your biggest moments is safe and will not be lost simply if my computer crashes. These are your beautiful memories that you're trusting me with–And I don't take that lightly. As I mentioned above, this is the most time-consuming process for me! As soon as I get home after photographing an event, I back-up all images to multiple hard drives. In addition, I keep an SD card with all original files as another back-up. This assures that your photos are safe. When your event is ready to be processed, I first cull through all of the images taken. This can sometimes be thousands of files to sort through in order to narrow it down to the very best. Once the final images are selected it takes many hours to individually edit each image–Ensuring that all are perfect and ready for your gallery. Typical editing includes cropping, color balancing, light correction, some blemishes are removed, and basic Photoshopping is done if it's needed. At this time I'll also save a black and white version if I feel that it would add to the image creatively. After a gallery is complete, the retouched 'finals' folder is saved onto multiple hard-drives. I then upload all images onto your private gallery on Pixieset as well as a flash-drive for you to keep. This guarantees that your gallery of photos will be kept safe and accessible. When can I expect my final pictures?
On average, all portrait and engagement sessions can expect a 3-4 week timeframe. Wedding photos typically have a turn-around time of 5-7 weeks for the final gallery. Wedding slideshow videos are typically completed right before your final gallery is complete. Final file delivery ultimately depends on the time of season and amount of images that I'm currently editing. That being said–I always post a sneak-peek on Facebook within 24 hours! Where are you located and how far will you travel?
I'm currently located in the Northern Rhode Island area. I'm available to travel within the Rhode Island & Massachusetts area. I would consider traveling into Connecticut, depending on the distance. Do you use a second photographer/shooter?
Occasionally, but most of the time no. Currently, all of the weddings featured on this website have been shot by me, and just me! Yes, I can capture both the bride walking down the isle as well as the grooms reaction! I do believe that there are certain situations that may require an additional photographer–If the bride & groom are getting ready an hour apart, if cocktail hour guest photos are important, etc.. But for the most part, every picture on your wish-list can be captured by just one capable photographer. I fully believe that wedding photos are quality over quantity and sometimes my emotional connection with the couple on their wedding day is more complicated if they need to worry about a second person with a camera! Do you work with an assistant?
Yes I do! My wonderful husband Will is typically my assistant for weddings and photo-shoots. I try to bring him along on client meetings as well, since he might be in the background during your session or wedding day. He's such a champ and I don't know where I'd be without him by my side during these long days. He must really, really love me! At a wedding, my assistant's job is to stand off to the side and help me with equipment. Changing batteries, swapping out lenses, holding reflectors, etc. It allows me to completely focus instead of spending precious time rustling through my bags every 20 minutes! |
