Leanne and Chris' Wedding

8/12/2016

My goal with photographing weddings is never to just capture a "pretty picture". At every wedding, I pray that somehow I can allow the mood and emotion of the day to shine through in the images that I create. Every single wedding is different and unique. Each one comes with it's own story that deserves to be told and all I want to do is tell that love story in the most beautiful way possible. The love that I witnessed from Leanne & Chris on their laid-back wedding day was immeasurable. Wedding days are always emotional moments–Even more so when you're expecting your first child! Leanne's cute, little baby bump made these couple's portraits especially adorable. Rather than starting off their day with a traditional first-look, these two chose to begin with an intimate "first cast" on the beach where they love fishing. The way that he looks at her for the first time.. I can't help but smile!

Although it was a hot Friday at Colt State Park, we managed to stay cool by taking frequent breaks in the shade. The scenery at this beautiful park in Bristol, RI is amazing and there are such a variety of locations for pictures. After spending some time photographing the couples photos, their bridesmaids and groomsmen joined us for some portraits as well. The women wore the most perfect mismatching, vintage, pink dresses that contrasted perfectly with the men's blue ensemble. After our portraits with the bridal party, it was time for the ceremony!

Chris waited for his beautiful bride at Colt State Park's outdoor alter. Mason jars of baby's breath lined the isle as each friend and family member made their way down towards their seat. Leanne's brother escorted her down the isle and toward her handsome groom. Her other brother officiated their ceremony, making the moment even more special for everyone. Leanne's mother read a wonderful reading that left everyone with tears in their eyes just in time for the emotional vows. These two wrote and read the most beautiful vows that I think I've ever heard. I have to be honest–I stood in the isle with some tears running down my cheeks (luckily my camera made the perfect shield until I could recover). And then there was the kiss.. You can see the happiness just radiating off of Leanne & Chris–Their joy and love for one another is entirely contagious!

After a few family portraits, it was time for their reception. They began the evening party with their first dance–Thanks to a small, two-piece instrumental band. As with everything else, it was an adorable, intimate moment.. Like it was just the two of them in the room. Their reception space was decorated with the most simple, gorgeous wildflowers and vintage decor. Each table had a unique wooden centerpiece with mismatched, antique bottles of wildflowers. The succulent thank-you's were a cute touch as well and their guests loved them! Finally, at the end of my coverage the Del's Lemonade truck came around and we HAD to take some pictures. Leanne & Chris served a few of their guests the refreshing, slushy treat as I snapped away. Those last images were definitely some of my favorite pictures from the day!

I'm so lucky that I was able to be there to witness this next step in their lives. Congratulations again to these soul mates and soon-to-be parents and thank you so much for letting me share in this special moment! I wish you two all the best in your wonderful future ahead.
